This 12-day journey through Morocco combines cultural exploration, scenic drives, desert adventures, and immersive local encounters. The trip begins in Casablanca and travels north to Tangier and Chefchaouen before heading to Fes, Rabat, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. A domestic flight takes you to the Sahara Desert for unforgettable activities and camping, followed by exploration of the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and Marrakech. The journey ends with a day in the Atlas Mountains before departure.
Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your flight time, you may take a stroll through the city and enjoy the unique blend of modern architecture and traditional charm before spending the night in Casablanca.
Day 2: Casablanca city tour → High-speed train to Tangier → Guided city tour
Begin the day with a short city tour of Casablanca, including a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Later, board the high-speed Al Boraq train for a two-hour journey to Tangier. After arrival and lunch, you will enjoy a guided city tour, exploring the Kasbah, Medina, the historic American Legation, and the Royal Palace before spending the night in Tangier.
Day 3: Drive to Chefchaouen → Guided visit → Continue to Fes
After breakfast, travel to Chefchaouen, the famous blue town in the Rif Mountains. A guided walking tour will introduce you to its picturesque alleys, vibrant markets, and historic Kasbah. In the afternoon, continue your scenic drive to Fes, arriving in the late afternoon to settle in for the night
Day 4: Full-day discovery of Fes (medina, artisan workshops, Royal Palace, Jewish quarter)
Spend the day exploring Fes, Morocco’s oldest royal city. The morning begins with a visit to Fes el Bali, the medieval medina, with its spice markets, artisan workshops, and souks. You will also visit the 14th-century Medersa and see the Karaouine Mosque, once the world’s oldest university. In the afternoon, discover the Royal Palace museum, stroll through the Jewish quarter, and stop at a 17th-century synagogue before ending the day at the bustling jewelry market.
Today’s journey takes you from Fes to Rabat with cultural stops along the way. First, visit Meknes, an imperial city known for its impressive gates and royal heritage, followed by the Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its well-preserved mosaics and temples. Upon arrival in Rabat, enjoy an afternoon city tour that includes the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower, and the Royal Palace before settling in for the night.
In the morning, take a flight from Rabat to Errachidia and then drive into the Sahara Desert. The day is dedicated to desert adventures, including quad biking, sandboarding, and a camel ride across the dunes. You will also visit a nomadic village and witness a spectacular sunset over the sands. The evening is spent under the stars in a comfortable desert camp, where you will enjoy Berber hospitality.
Day 7: Sunrise in Sahara → Drive to Dades Valley
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. You will then begin the scenic drive to the Dades Valley, a lush area known for its dramatic rock formations and gorges. After a stop for lunch along the way, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure before spending the night in a guesthouse or hotel in the valley.
Day 8: Full day in Dades (hiking or cultural workshops)
This day is dedicated to exploring the beauty and traditions of the Dades Valley. Options include a guided hike through the stunning gorges, participating in a cultural workshop such as pottery, weaving, or cooking, or simply relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Overnight in Dades.
Day 9: Dades → Ouarzazate (Kasbahs & film studios) → Ait Benhaddou → Marrakech
Depart Dades and head toward Marrakech, stopping en route to visit Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara,” with its historic Kasbahs and film studios. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village famous for its striking architecture and role in many films. After exploring this site, continue across the mountains to Marrakech, where you will overnight.
Day 10: Hidden sides of Marrakech (souks, fondouks, Quran schools, Jemaa El Fna)
Today’s tour reveals the lesser-known sides of Marrakech. You will visit traditional quarters with Quran schools, fountains, historic gates, and a centuries-old bakery. Stop by the Almoravid Dome, the city’s oldest monument, and explore the artisan workshops of the old Fondouks. Later, you will immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Jemaa El Fna Square before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 11: Atlas Mountains – immersive Amazigh day (cooking, weaving, pottery, farm visit)
Embark on an excursion to the Atlas Mountains for a day with the Amazigh (Berber) community. Participate in daily village life by baking bread, preparing a tagine, and brewing mint tea in a family kitchen. You will also enjoy hands-on workshops in ceramics and weaving, walk through farm terraces, and visit a local preschool. This immersive cultural exchange offers a true taste of Amazigh traditions before returning to Marrakech for the night.
Day 12: Departure from Marrakech or transfer to Casablanca
Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Marrakech airport or driven to Casablanca airport for your departure. This marks the end of your memorable journey through Morocco.
